Chance the Rapper

Rap/Hip Hop,R&B/Soul,Jazz

Chance the Rapper (Chancellor Bennett) had a huge 2016; his third mixtape, "Coloring Book," won three Grammys, including Best Rap Album, and was the first streaming-only album to earn a Grammy nomination. Chance is much more than a hip-hop artist, blurring the borders between music genres, edging toward R&B, using vocal harmony and traditional jazz instrumentation. In 2017, he embarked on his first arena tour. He first made some noise on the Chicago hip-hop blog Fake Shore Drive with his video for "Nostalgia" in early 2011. From there, Chance built a steady buzz, with packed listening parties, then national recognition for his second mixtape, "Acid Rap." Aside from his own project, he's a member of the Chicago collective Save Money and has sung for the group The Social Experiment.
